Gliders give you that same easy motion in a smoother, side-to-side-free glide that doesn't creep across the floor boards. At Countryside Outdoors, we carry both rockers and gliders made from heavy-duty poly lumber so they look good and work well for years.
Many of our customers choose a rocker or glider for a parent or grandparent who wants a comfortable seat that's simple to get in and out of. Others just like a chair that moves while they watch the evening come in.
Built heavy so they stay put
Lightweight outdoor rockers tend to walk across the porch or tip in the wind. Our poly rockers and gliders have a sturdy, heavy frame that stays planted. Poly lumber doesn't absorb water, so it won't rot, crack or splinter, and you never have to scrape and repaint it. Rinse it off with a hose or wipe it down with soap and water, and it's ready to use again.
Rockers or gliders — which is right for you?
A rocker uses curved runners and gives the classic rocking motion. It's a natural fit for a covered front porch. A glider sits on a stationary base and moves smoothly on its mechanism, which many people find gentler and quieter. Gliders are also a good choice for decks and patios where you don't want runners scuffing the surface. Add a gliding footstool to either one for an extra-comfortable seat.
